About Ritual
Ritual is not a spa, a gym, or a traditional therapy office—though it may borrow something from each. It is a carefully curated space where somatic therapy, parts work, breath and energy practices, depth psychology, yoga, and nature-based therapies are woven into a single, steady, body-led experience.
Ritual is a body-first therapeutic sanctuary for women in midlife, rooted in Ayurvedic rhythm and nervous system care. It’s a modern village in the heart of San Diego where women who have spent decades holding everything and everyone else can finally exhale, be held, and reconnect with themselves and each other.
Who Ritual Is For
Ritual is designed for women roughly 40–65 who live full, complex lives. Many are in the San Diego area, balancing leadership at work, caregiving at home, and the invisible labour of holding families and communities together.
Perimenopause or menopause.
Teenagers, adult children, or an emptying nest.
Aging parents and increased caregiving.
Career plateaus, pivots, or “What comes next?”.
You may be navigating:
You are intelligent, well-resourced, and you’ve already done a lot: therapy, coaching, fitness, retreats, self-study. You are not looking for a beginner’s guide to wellness—you’re looking for a place that meets you where you are, respects your discernment, and helps your body feel like an ally again.
What Happens Here
At Ritual, the work begins “neck down.” Sessions and circles are guided less by talking about your story and more by listening to how your body has been holding it.
You may notice unexpected sensations, images, or emotions surface as you work. You are not asked to push through; instead, you are guided to move at the pace your nervous system can genuinely hold.
Over time, this work may support: deeper sleep, steadier energy, feeling less reactive with the people you love, and moving through midlife transitions with a greater sense of clarity and ease.
A visit may include:
Somatic Therapy: tracking sensations, breath, and subtle movement to let the body complete what has been held or braced against.
Internal Family Systems–informed parts work: meeting inner protectors, younger parts, and wise inner figures with compassion instead of judgment.
Energy and breath practices: simple, accessible ways of working with the subtle body when words are not enough.
Jungian depth and imagery: inviting the unconscious to speak through images, symbols, and dreams that arise as the body settles.
Nature-based therapy and Ayurvedic rhythm: orienting to daily and seasonal cycles, elements, and simple rituals that support digestion, rest, and hormonal balance.
Our Founder
Michelle is the founder and practitioner behind Ritual. She is a somatic therapist and guide whose work blends:
Somatic Therapy
Internal Family Systems–informed parts work
Kundalini and energy/breath practices
Jungian depth psychology
Hypnosis
Nature-based therapy and yoga, held within an Ayurvedic framework of daily rhythm and nervous system care.
In session, Michelle tracks more than words. She listens to breath and micro-movements, notices where the body tightens or softens, and invites clients to pause, close their eyes, and feel what is happening “from the neck down.” When the mind races, she gently but clearly redirects attention back to the body: “What do you notice right now?”
Her way of working is grounded, spacious, and non‑judgmental, with clear direction when needed. She practices from the belief that the body is a wise woman—that when given time, safety, and attention, she knows the way forward.
Ritual is her heart-led offering to midlife women in this community: an invitation to stop carrying everything alone, and to remember what it feels like to be resourced, rooted, and supported in your own skin
